Scott Bass Board Member

Scott Bass, Surfing Heritage Foundation Board Member, has been surfing since 1978; a member of the Swamis Surfing Association; Online Editor at SURFER magazine for 10 years; Executive Director of the Sacred Craft Consumer Surf Expo; host/producer of "Down The Line" surf talk radio in San Diego on XTRA Sports 1360AM; Writer & co-Director of the award winning documentary film Between The Lines. Married to beautiful wife Katrina Bass; two children and living in Encinitas, CA, Scott can be found on any given day, riding everything from short to long to stand up paddle boards.

Steve Blank Board Member

Steve Blank, Surfing Heritage Foundation Board Member, is the Director of Development of the Surfrider Foundation where he manages all fundraising efforts for the organization. Steve was born and raised in San Diego and has spent all but seven years of his life there. He grew up riding the waves and diving the waters off SoCal and still spends nearly all of his free time outdoors - surfing, skiing, golfing, sailing, fishing and hiking. He is a member of the Board of Earthshare and is also a member of the Executive Committee and past Chair of the Moores UCSD Cancer Center Luau & Longboard Invitational. Steve received his B.A. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and his Masters in International Business Management from the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies (IR/PS) at UC San Diego. He currently lives in North County San Diego with his wife and their two children.

Scott Griffiths Board Member

W. Scott Griffiths, Surfing Heritage Foundation Board Member, is currently CEO of 18/8, a chain of fine men’s salons as well as Boombang Ventures, the venture division of an international brand strategy and product design firm. Scott’s passion has always centered around surfing and surf culture. In 1990, he created a microbrewery call Rhino Chasers, inspired by Greg Noll and the big wave riders. In 2006, Scott led the financing and joined the Board for H2OAudio, a firm that designs waterproof housing for iPods. In 2007, he led the financing and joined the Board for Outside Labs, a leader in skincare and suncare products for surfers and athletes. Mr. Griffiths is also an ongoing instructor at The Art Center College of Design where he teaches advanced product designers how to take product concepts and develop go-to-market strategies.
