Chris Evans Secretary

Chris Evans, Secretary of the Surfing Heritage Foundation, a trial lawyer and environmental activist, Chris began boating and wave riding on the North Shore, (well, off Long Island New York...), in 1960. He moved to Southern California in 1965 and has spent the years since then living, surfing and boating in Orange County. He was the Senior Assistant District Attorney of Orange County commanding the Major Offenses Division until 1999 when he took the post as U.S. Executive Director of the Surfrider Foundation, which he held for five years. In 2004 he left that position for a judicial appointment on the Superior Court bench. Chris was named SIMA's 2005 Environmentalist of the Year for his non profit work with Surfrider Foundation in the U.S. and globally. He is a long time member of the San Onofre Surf Club.
